Breeding place Europoort

(Broedplaats Europoort v/h “De Beer”)
2004/05

In commission of the Nederlands fotomuseum (Dutch museum of Photography) in Rotterdam, Paul Bogaers realized an exhibition and a publication on the subject of the vanished nature reserve “De Beer”, nowadays known as the large-scale port and industrial area ‘Eurpoort’. In the early 1960’s this unique nature site, especially renowned for its large variety of bird species,  was sacrificed completely to allow the expansion of the ports of Rotterdam.

In this project Bogaers combined new-made photographs with historical material on the subject, largely from the collection of the museum.
